questions owners ask
Your data and privacy: the answers.
Who owns the customer data in a workflow chalkthis. builds?
You do. Everything lives in accounts you control, like your own email, phone service and database, not in chalkthis. accounts. If you stop working with chalkthis., the data and the workflows stay with you.
Will anything go to my customers without my approval?
No. Review replies, quotes, emails and texts go out only after you approve them. You can approve each message, or approve a template once and let it run, and you can pause it at any time.
Can I text my customers about specials and promotions?
Only customers who agreed to get texts from you. Marketing texts need the customer’s written permission, business texting has to be registered with the phone carriers (it’s called A2P 10DLC), and every message needs a way to opt out, like replying STOP. That’s why chalkthis. starts past customer follow-up with email.
What are the rules for marketing emails?
In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act applies: every marketing email has to explain how to opt out and include a valid physical postal address, and opt-outs must be honored within 10 business days. The FTC says the law makes no exception for business-to-business email.
How does chalkthis. keep information secure?
By keeping it small and in the right place. Customer data stays in your accounts, access is limited to the people who need it, everything travels over encrypted connections, and every build gets a security check before it goes live. No system is perfectly secure, so chalkthis. collects only what a workflow needs.
What happens to my data if I stop working with chalkthis.?
It stays where it is: in your accounts. chalkthis.’s access is removed, and the records chalkthis. keeps about the work, like contracts and invoices, are kept only as long as tax and contract rules require.
How do I find out what chalkthis. holds about me, or have it deleted?
Email chalkthis@gmail.com. chalkthis. will tell you what it holds, correct it, delete it unless the law requires a record, and stop messaging you on any channel. Requests are answered within 30 days, usually within one business day, at no charge.
